On the S&D Group’s initiative, the European Parliament held today a debate exposing the links between the Putin regime, now waging a war against Ukraine, and the extreme-right, populists and separatists’ parties and movements in Europe. While supporting Putin for years, they have been trying to weaken our democracies and divide and destabilise our Europe.

China must use its influence on Russia to stop the bloodshed in Ukraine, say S&Ds

Speaking ahead of a debate in the European Parliament today on the outcome of the EU-China Summit, the Socialists and Democrats stressed China’s responsibility as a global actor and called on China to support efforts to end the war in Ukraine by putting pressure on Russia.

The Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament will vote in favour of an EU legislation that will achieve better connectivity of energy infrastructure among member states. According to them, the Trans-European energy infrastructure Regulation, known also as TEN-E, will further strengthen sustainability of the EU energy grids.
