Following the victory by President Vučić and his ruling SNS party in Sunday’s elections in Serbia, the Socialists and Democrats urge him to finally make a clear pro-European choice, restore democracy and the rule of law and take the enlargement process reform seriously. Serbia must also align to the EU sanctions against Russia following Putin’s war against Ukraine as soon as possible. Otherwise, this will have the consequences for its EU perspective.

WindEurope’s Board of Directors has elected Sven Utermöhlen, CEO Offshore Wind at RWE Renewables, as the Association’s new Chair for an 18-month term. The Board also appointed Kresten Ørnbjerg, VP Head of Global Public Affairs at Vestas, as the new Vice-Chair. The election comes at a critical time for wind energy in Europe.

Studie zu Tiefwasserhafen in Świnoujście warnt vor signifikanten ökologischen Auswirkungen in Polen und Deutschland

Das geplante Tiefwasser-Containerterminals auf der Halbinsel Usedom/Wollin würde signifikante Auswirkungen auf Flora und Fauna dies- und jenseits der deutsch-polnischen Grenze haben. Das belegt eine nun vorgestellte Studie, die die Europaabgeordneten Hannah Neumann (BÜNDNIS 90/DIE GRÜNEN) und Helmut Scholz (DIE LINKE.) in Auftrag gegeben hatten.

The S&D Group is urging the conservative EPP Group to stop playing politics with the rule of law and let the European Public Prosecutor’s Office carry out its work in Bulgaria without political interference. Despite ongoing investigations into serious allegations of fraud and corruption of EU funds in Bulgaria, the EPP Group is demanding a debate in next week’s plenary on the role of the European Public Prosecutor (EPPO) in Bulgaria following arrests of former government figures last week.
